This month, we would also like to thank the Technique Junkies Newsletter for their generous sponsorship.

The Technique Junkie Newsletter was started in 2002 as a resource for Rubber Stamping Techniques. The Newsletter is published every-other month, featuring 15 or more stamping techniques in step-by-step format. Subscribers can choose to receive the newsletter in the mail (comes with access to the online tutorials) or an online-only subscription. Each technique has a corresponding pictorial online, and a full page of inspirational artwork by the talented Technique Junkie Newsletter Designers. To date, over 850 Techniques have been published, by far the largest and most extensive library of rubber stamping tutorials available.

One randomly drawn winner from the qualifying participants for this challenge will become our new Home Page Artist for a week as well as winning the fabulous "Emboss or Die" CD from Technique Junkies and, for this final challenge, a two-year online only subscription to the fabulous Technique Junkie Newsletter.

A cute birthday card for you!

I was cleaning out my e-mails.  THEN......I saw it........the e-mail from a friend reminding me to bring her a birthday card with cats.  Dang!!  Ran down to the Stamp Hole and looked through my stash.  Nope....nothin'.....nada.  I'd have to create it.  It was 10:30pm on saturday and I needed it for Sunday morning so I just bit the bullet and created.  I've had this piece of Simple Sumi background (from the 10-05 Technique Junkie newsletter) that I've been hoarding.  I just didn't want to use it......I thought it was so pretty and didn't want to see it go bye bye.  If you haven't tried it before, it is one of the most addicting techniques.  You can click on the Technique Junkie banner down on the right to read more about being a subscriber!!  I digress...........After grabbing it, I searched through my cat stamps and found one that I thought would work nice from Magenta.  As I was cutting it to show the pretty background, I decided to actually separate the two cats (they originally were together on the stamp) apart.  Add a little copic work on it and voila!  My friend at church loved it.  I decided to also enter it into the Gingersnap Birthday Challenge!  You can see the challenge page HERE.  Hope you have enjoyed it!

Burnished Lucy

This card's background is a technique from the most recent Technique Junkie newsletter called Burnished Backgrounds.  I didn't start out with white cardstock, however, so I burnished with white craft ink (which turned kind of pink).  Lucy is from Stampsmith.  She is colored with copic markers.  The background stamp is from Stampin Up and the stamp hole is too far away to run down and get the maker on the "I love you" stamp.   After I had Lucy colored in, there was just something missing and I couldn't pin it down until I remembered that her eyes needed a white dot.  Voila!  That was it......dark holes of eyes made into real eyes with the dot of a Signo pen.   Enjoy!

She was also made for a challenge over at Gingersnap Creations!  They have a challenge to make a card with Stars.....my star is Lucy!  Here is the link to their challenge.....HERE.
