CD Sale Blog Hop

Let's do a little celebration!!  Pat from Technique Junkies is celebrating in big style with a sale on her yearly CD's.  This includes CD1 through CD9.  Each CD has all the techniques from that year's newsletters PLUS 10 bonus techniques not published anywhere else.  The CD's are $10 each plus shipping and THAT is a great deal!  There are 80 - 100 techniques on each CD which makes them around .10 each.......WOW!!.......So.............hop along with us for the sale and see some of the techniques from each CD.

If you started here, hop first to the TechniqueJunkie blog HERE!
If you have been hopping along, you should have come from Nancy's blog.   View my cards and scroll under them for the next blog stop.
I am highlighting several technique from CD 4 (2006).
There were so many wonderful techniques in that issue I had a hard time settling on just two.  My first card was made from the Bonus technique section.  The technique is called Alcohol Smoosh.  Not only is a lot of fun to do but it sure is hard to stop creating!!  The darling car stamp in this card is from Prickley Pear Stamps

My second card is from the April/May 2006 newsletter and features the Hot Card Technique.  No stamps on this one.  The flower is a sizzix die and the flower middle is a Punch Bunch punch.

Now that you have seen a few of the techniques from CD4, hop on over to Donna's blog for a peek at CD5.
Click Here! for the file that will show you the full listing of all the techniques on each CD!

A little cling and scrunch

I made this card for my cousin.  My aunt (her mom) passed away not too long back from cancer.  It is a terrible loss to all of us.  You may be wondering why the card has purses on it since it is a sympathy card.  Well.....my aunt's name is Persis!  She also often wore jewelry with little purses on them.  So, the purses on my card are quite appropriate.  The cling and scrunch is from the 2007 June issue of the TJ newsletter.  The sympathy word was cut on my cricut with a SCAL file from kwerner.  That is her handwriting.  Wish I could write that beautifully!  The punched purse idea came from a fellow technique junkie whose name I have unfortunately not written down.

Rare for me!

As an avid reader of my youth, I find it somewhat sad that I rarely get to read now.  I blame my inability to schedule my free time properly to this fact!  While on vacation for two weeks, I happened to pick up a book in an information center at Parker's Crossing in Tennessee.  Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl (Dover Thrift Editions).  It was published in 1861.  Since I had the opportunity to see "Roots" and movies like "The color Purple", I knew that the life of a slave wasn't easy BUT I had NO idea that it was as bad as it was described in her book.  If you get a chance, read it.  ;-)
