Inky Bands and Loopy Flowers

I've had the ribbon on this card for absolutely ages.  Every time I wanted to use it on a card (because the colors are so pretty), it was just too big for what I wanted.  Well.....while I was surfing around on Splitcoaststampers the other day, I ran across their tutorial on making loopy felt flowers.  I thought I would make the technique work for my wide ribbon.  It worked pretty good!  To set the colors of the flower off, the Inky Bands technique from the most recently TJ newsletter was just perfect!  I used Distress Inks for the band.  After I was done, the panel looked just a little too bare for me so I added some wavy lines.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts.    I did think that it was kind of ironic that the technique helps you make a flat card that is great for mailing.......then I put a fat pearl brad on it.  HA!
