Four way combo

Here is my card for th Sweet Stop Sketch challenge AND the Artful Sentiments Copic Challenge AND the TJ challenge to post a card with a TJ technique AND my Sweet N Sassy digital image for Sweet Stop Design Team members.  The whole image is of a little boy pulling the wagon with the pumpkin but since the copic challenge colors were just orange, yellow, and a W (grey) copic, I decided to only focus on the pumpkin.  You can see the sketch challenge and the copic challenge home pages by clicking on the links and banners to the right column.  The TJ challenge was to use any TJ technique.  Well....believe it or not, I had never done Score grid.  At least I don't remember doing it.  It is quite easy!  Always nice to have another way to use my Scor-It (which I love BTW).

And..........make sure you click on the Sunbeams flashing blinkie to the right side column.  Sweet N Sassy stamps is celebrating their second birthday and they are having a give away.  WOW......can you believe that it has been two years already!  Congratulations, Korin!!

Three in one!

Well......it has been a hard week but I made it!!  Here are my design team challenges rolled into one!  The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge can be seen by clicking on the Sweet Stop badge to the right!  It was a fun sketch this week......if you give it a try you can upload your creation on the Sweet Stop blog!

The copic challenge at Artful Sentiments by Kimm are such beautiful fall colors this week...at least the end of fall!  Here they are:

You can upload your creation on Kimm's blog as well for the copic challenge....let's see what you can do with your colors!  Click on the "see Kimm's blog here" link at the top right to upload and see what the other designers submitted.  The inside of this card says "We share in your sorrow."

Then the third part of the 'three in one' is that I needed more Sympathy cards for my upcoming card sale.  This card also incorporated the torn frames and 'out of the box' techniques from the Technique Junkie newsletter.  Whew!  I love how you can do out of the box techniques with the nestibilities.  It is sooo easy.  place your nestie over your image when you will be cutting.  Use a pencil and draw on your image along the inside edge of the die.  Take die away and use scissors to cut away the edge of the paper and around the part of your image that will be hanging 'out of the box'.  Put your die back over the image but slip the cut out part over the top and away from the cutting edge.  So simple!  Hope you enjoy!

It's Saturday and time Two challenges

Yup.....Saturday is the day for both the Artful Sentiments Copic Challenge AND the Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge for Sweet N Sassy Stamps.

This week the copic challenge uses the colors shown to the side.  So,
what do those colors look like to you?  Well, I saw colors that I could use for my Artistic Outpost clown!  I have been wanting to use this clown from their set for a long time.  I've also wanted to do the Technique Junkie technique called Scappy Spots that was submitted by Nancy Judd.  This was just the perfect color combo!

******************************
Now on to the Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge.  The sketch challenge this month is listed on the Sweet Stop blog.....click on the logo to the right to see it!!  This was a sketch with a spin.....you had to use recycled items.  I have been thinking about this sketch for a long time and NOTHING was coming to my mind.  I had a few small recycled items to use but they just weren't speaking to me.  For the card below, this is what I recycled....

1.  A Plow & Hearth sales magazine picture of a wreath and candle in a window
2.  A Mylar red balloon
3.  The blue badly stamped piece of cardstock
4.  Words from the inside of an old Christmas card.
5.  All the Cardstock was from my scrap bin

So....what is your opinion....passable? !!

It's Sugar Baby and Artful Sentiment copic Challenge time!

AH!  I forgot to get this post on automatic yesterday!!  Sorry I'm late!!  Here is my card for this week's challenges.   This week I combined the challenges.  The colors for the copic challenge seen to the left inspired leaves.....right?!  I'm STILL wishing that I was in New England so see the beautiful fall colors.   Personal Interlude:   Last night we went to a new place to eat.....I had a coupon for $25 (you had to spend $35).  It was a BBQ place.  I'v e been hankering to have some Yankee Smokehouse BBQ since last year in New Hampshire so when I saw the Smoky Mountain BBQ I thought.......hmmmmm......maybe it will be as good as Yankee....     Wow......Nothing could be further from the truth.  The 'restaurant' ended up being an order window inside a bar.  At least in Oregon you can't smoke inside any building anymore.....thank goodness....or I would have had to leave.  The meatloaf wasn't too bad.....but almost every bit had something unchewable.  The brisket sandwich was FULL of fat.....ewwww.  The 1/2 rack of pork ribs wasn't too bad but lacked any real BBQ taste and the middle of the rack was cold.  The black beans were fair to midland but the potatoe wedges and sweet potatoe fries were fine.  I had two gift certificates to go there but I don't think we'll use the second one.

Okay.....back to stamping.    After I decided I wanted leaves, I grabbed Sweet N Sassy's Autumn set which is drawn by Chris Dickinson.  I did use my blender to lighten the colors a little so they would look a little more leafish!  This sketch layout is from the Sweet N Sassy Sweet Spot blog....you can click on it to the left on my sidebar.  The long piece below the image is a Technique Junkie technique called Painted Mesh.  I used gesso instead of acrylic and toned it down with sponging.  The card ended up being a little dark but I guess it made the image stand out that way, right!  Around the image I also used TJ's Rubber Thwamping.....a technique that I submitted.  I think the technique has been around a while though.  I just love the texture that it can give....much different than sponging AND it is easy to clean off to reuse.  The maple leaf brad was a embellishment that I frankly forgot I had!  I have a slew of brads in different shapes that I got at the last Hot off the Press warehouse sale (locally) and I had them stored in those divided containers......I just never remember to look in there!!  Hope you enjoy this week's ramblings!

Double Duties

Well.....today is a double duty design team day.  I have two design cards to post today.  The first is my design card for Artful Sentiments by Kimm's copic challenge.  You can link to the master challenge post to the right on my sidebar.  This week's colors are a true indication that fall is on the way.   This time last year I was in New England leaf peeking and I sure wish I was back there again.  The fall color back East is WAY more beautiful than out in the Pacific Northwest.  I even had to go through all of our pictures last night just to reflect on our wonderful time there.  So....in honor of the beautiful fall colors that are surely happening in New Hampshire and Vermont, here is my challenge card.    The scene stamp is from Hero Arts and is colored with the required copics plus a few extra colors around those to give depth.  I was a little dissappointed in the way the colors scanned.  The patterned paper really is more the color of the image.  When you scan dimensionals, it tends to make the color of the paper change.  The leaves of the tree are mounted up.  The little paper leaves were in my stash from a 'must have' purchase from the LSS several years ago!  This card in itself was double duty as it is the Midnight Madness sketch challenge of the week!  MMSC21!  ;-)

Next is my design team card for The SweetStopSketch Challenge 24.  This is my first posting as part of Korin's Sugar Baby team.  What fun!  You can click on the Sweet Stop pink badge to the right and see the sketch challenge for the week.  We have a wonderful line up of Sugar Babies for the Challenge team.  Make sure you take a look at their wonderful creations too!   I have had this cute little Penny Black dog since last Thanksgiving and it was time to use him.  I knew right away that his horn would have to be out of the box!!  He was colored with copic markers.  The dotted paper on the bottom of the heap is some of my hoarded patterned paper that I have vowed to use as much as possible.  The swirly layer is the triple dimension technique from the Technique Junkie Newsletter and it actually a treble staff stamp.  The layer just under the sentiment is a technique I had submitted to the TJ newsletter called Rubber Thwamping.  I think the technique has been around a while but I don't know from where.  I used lentils for my thwamping!  This is the same technique that I used for my card for the TJ blog hop a few days ago.  So easy and fun.

So there you have it........a double post for today!!  Now get off the computer and get back to your stamping!!

Artful Sentiments Copic Challenge #27

Well.....our challenge comes a little early this week as Kimm has a wedding in the house on Saturday!  I pray she has THE most relaxed and joyful day!  Now for the challenge this week.  The colors, when scribbed out on paper, didn't speak to me much this week.  No stamp was really reaching out and crying for those colors.  So, on the hunt I went.  I saw this stamp and thought....Hmmm.....that stamp hasn't seen ink since I purchased it three years ago.  Maybe now is the time!  I originally colored it with a blue tin and green and purple fish but it just didn't look right so I reversed the colors and then it looked better.  I made the background piece with the three colors of the week along with the blender.  It is soooo easy to give yourself a little piece of decorated paper like this!!  Try it!!  After making this and looking at the scan I see that I should have probably layered the sentiment and the fish for more umph!  I used a technique called Drywall stitching from the Technique Junkie newsletter.  Such a fun technique and soooo fast and easy.  I really should be using it more often.

Artful Sentiments Copic Challenge #26

When I first started looking at the color combo given to us for this challenge, I thought....."Oh my....how in the world will I find a stamp for THOSE colors?"  After scribbling them on a scratch piece of paper and staring at them for a while, I remembered this stamp I got from the rubber stamp convention in March from Auntie Amy.  I've wanted to use it for a long time.  It was perfect!  I naturally had to add a few other colors, like a lighter yellow to soften the white behind the fish and words.  AND a few other yellows to go with the challenge color to give my wood a more realistic look.  You can't see it in the scan but I used Copic's Spica glitter pen on the image.  Nice for a guy.....not too much glitter but enough to jazz it up a little.  After my image was complete I looked around for something for the background.  I originally tried to so a sanded whitewash (a TJ technique) with a piece of black/gold sparkly paper from Paper Temptress.  But, after the sanding, it just didn't have the right color to go with the image.  I'll have to use the piece I made on another card though as it turned out very pretty.  Then I remembered that I had some faux wood pieces made for another card that I never completed.  It was perfect. The image is mounted on foam tape to raise it up a little.   I hope that it inspires you to create!

Artful Sentiments Copic Challenge #25

Man......the days are just flying by. It seems like only yesterday that I posted. Sorry for the lag! I guess that happens when you are over busy, right?

I hope that you enjoy the post today. We were to use the three copic colors pictured. I didn't have R59 so substituted R39 instead. As I was playing with the colors, I noticed that if I overlapped the colors that the RV turned more red so........I blended them to create the car color. This is a new stamp set that I got from Clear Dollar Stamps. The moment that I saw their new car stamps I HAD to get some. Not only this race car but some Fords as well. I'm a sucker for Fords! I had the card ready to assemble and the red base just looked too lonely so I added the flags around as a border and I think it completed the card, don't you!!

I couldn't quit figure out what the thing was towards the back of the car. I was assuming that it was the driver but it did look a little strange for a driver. I just assume that it is the driver's helmut and colored it with a grey window. As I look at the scanned picture, the red background really look pink on my monitor. It isn't, really!! It is a REAL red!

Click on Kimm's link on the sidebar so YOU can participate in the copic challenge. It's fun!!

Artful Sentiments Copic Challenge #23

Make sure you read the purple words at the end before you leave!

I swear that the clocks are on double time lately! Another week has gone by and it seems like only yesterday that I posted the last challenge card. This week the colors were quite different. The card did not start the way it ended but I'm sure many of you have had that happen! I grabbed this angel stamp by Nicole Croy. When I purchased the stamp I didn't see a printed image only the rubber. So, I had this image in my head and when I finally stamped it, the image was a little different than I had imagined. A little more dotty and the head wasn't particularly to my liking. BUT, I figured that I would work with it just the same. For the background, I used the GESSO OFF technique from the Technique Junkie newlsetter.
It happens to be a technique that I came up with. After completing the technique, the background needed to be toned down a little so I brayered SU's Apricot Appeal over the top. N0ne of the ribbon I had seemed to go well and after digging through my fibers I found this one. You can't tell in the scan very well but the colors of the fibers are golden and bronzy. The color palette is quite removed from my normal but that's okay. It is good to stretch your wings. (pun intended!) My cyber friend, Nancy Judd, always comes up with beautiful earthy colors in her cards. She and I have often joked about it. She has a hard time with the pastels and brights and I have a hard time with the earthy colors. So, when either of us would post a card that was out of our normal comfort zone, the other would make comment on how unusual it was! So this card, Dear Nancy, is for you!!
Yesterday I went to the Local Stamp store (LSS) to pick up some Amuse stamps that they had ordered for me. I don't really need anything at the LSS....really....I don't. But when I came away I had a nice little bag of ribbons, a few stamps and a couple pieces of patterned paper. Like I truly needed any of it!! I did feel good though knowing that I was helping the local business stay in business, right?! One of the stamps I picked up is a DARLING little racoon with his hands (paws) in the air. I hope you'll see it soon. I have a hard time letting go of any of my stamps. The 20 year collection is getting rather large now. So......what is your opinion? Purge a few or keep? What do you do and why? Tell me!
OH!! I don't want to forget....you WILL want to watch the blog on SUNDAY and again on MONDAY. On Sunday I will have some blog candy!! Then on Monday, the Technique Junkie Design Team is hosting a blog hop with a fabulous prize at the end. Sign up for e-mail notifications so you don't miss the candies!

Artful Sentiments Copic Challenge #22

This week Kimm is featuring greens as her copic colors of choice. I thought about what image I would use. Frogs........well, I have a few but none of them really called to me this week. Leaves.......hmmmm.......I guess leaves could work but I would really want to add more colors in than just green. So I looked over the stamp shelves.....still no inspiration. Next I grabbed my unmounted notebook. I keep a printed version in a notebook for all my unmounted stamps. It is categorized into sections......nature, animals, words, people, etc. As I was going through the gladiola stamp from RubberStampAve caught my eye. I have always loved those green glads. So.......here is the card I made. I had some green striped paper in the decorated paper stack but it was a little too bright for the image. So, I took the colors of copic markers that I used in the image and made my own stripe paper. Thanks to Kimm for this idea....she used it several weeks ago for a card that she did. After everything was together, it looked a little bare. One of my friends in my submission group, Mari, is working on a card for a submission this month. It was a monochromatic card where she had put on a butterfly (she later took it off!). So, I thought.....hey!.......I should put a little butterfly on my glad! So here ya go! The little antennea on the butterfly were too little to cut and stay attached, so I used a little bit of dark wire instead. Hope you like it!
This has been a busy week for me. A couple of days watching Zander thrown into the mix as well. Most of my time was spent getting ready for the car rally we are having tomorrow. A rally is where you are given a set of vague instructions(like turn left at stop.....instead of the street name) and asked to follow them and fill in the answers to questions that are asked along the route. Our rally centers around the Oregon Trail. The pioneers ended their pilgrimage to the Northwest right where we will be starting our rally. The Oregon City Interpetive Center. There are three HUGE wagon type buildings there. Our rally has lots of references to the Oregon Trail. Each 'wagon' (car) loads up on supplies that are in small bags, they choose a child, and some furniture. Along the route, they can barter with the Indian (My Ray) for extra supplies, they will encounter a calamity with their furniture, and then there will be some sillyness with their child. The people with the most correct rally answers, the best poker hand, the closest mileage to actual, and the people with the most points from their supplies will all get prizes. It is a special way to have fun with you cars! We'll meet at a local pizza place to grade our rally pack and award prizes.

Artful Sentiments Copic Challenge #21

I can't believe that the week is already over. It was a very busy week for sure! Here is my copic challenge card for Artful Sentiments by Kimm's copic challenge. The colors for the week are shown to the side. AND I actually had them all this week. BUT this week I did add another color with them.......a green. I used some digital flower images from Fred She Said. Such fun flowers to cut and make 3-D. The butterfly is from Sweet N Sassy Stamps digital designs. Korin's butterfly is wonderful and being digital you can make them any size you want.....a definite plus! The blue piece under the flower and butterfly is a piece of AI Float. (AI - Alcohol Ink). The AI float technique is one that I discovered one day while I was playing. I thought......if you can float spray paints on water for cool backgrounds.....maybe you can float alcohol inks as well. I tried it and I got these wonderful results. The scallop lace edge is a Martha Stewart border punch. This was the last piece of paper that the punch decided to punch. I have tried all weights of paper and it is hopelessly broken....ugh!

Hope you enjoy!

Artful Sentiments Copic Challenge #20

Well....it is that time again for the Artful Sentiments Copic Challenge. Did you know that you can play along too? Click on the link (to the right) to go to Artful Sentiments blog and you can post a link to your creation and play along. Show us what you can do!!
This week the colors are BV04, YR65 and B29. I happened to have all of them this week! Yeah!! Earlier this summer I ordered some sheets of rubber from Artistic Outpost and this week was the first that I used some of it. I loved most of the creations that Lisa Sommerville did with the clown and just had to have him. I also used one of the new Technique Junkie techniques called Brushed Inks.....it was a technique that I submitted to Pat for the newsletter and she accepted. It is so quick and easy. I saw a card made by a fellow Junkie with the corner punch I used for this card. I asked her who the manufacturer was.......2 Grrlls. Her statement was "You'll probably have a hard time finding it". Well, it was a little hard but I happened on someone selling it on ebay and including shipping got it for less than $5. Cool, huh?
Hope you like the card! Remember........play along with us!!

Artful Sentiments Copic Challenge #18

I'm a tad early for the challenge but Kimm said it was okay to post since I'm going out of town tomorrow. This was a fun color group. You can see the challenge colors by clicking on the link to the right to go to Artful Sentiments by Kimm's blog (on Saturday morning!). Instead of misting the stamp (in this case it was acrylic), I misted the paper and quickly scribbled on the stamp. The ink seemed to not dry quite as fast on the acrylic as on the rubber.....go figure! The stamp are by Heidi Swapp. I sure love this set. I used it on a couple of cards that will be in the artwork section of the new Technique Junkie newsletter that will be posted near the 1st of August. You're going to love this newsletter.....lots of real fun techniques in it with stuff you have on hand!

Tomorrow Ray and I will travel with my daughter, Leah, and her husband, Adam, and grandson, Zander. We are going to Montana. Adam's parents live in Billings and we will stay a day or so with them. We have three nights in NW Yellowstone........I'm excited about that! We are also going to a Gem farm somewhere in Montana. You can find sapphires there. I love rocks!! Adam made all the reservations and we didn't have to do a thing. That was really nice. I hope to have lots of pictures and stories when I get back in a week. Hope the traveling goes well with all five of us in our Explorer.

I'll miss the Challenge for next week. I had the colors ahead of time but just ran out of time to complete the card.

Artful Sentiments Copic Challenge #17

Another week has flown by......I am just pooped. The cruise-in is only a day away and I've hardly had time to keep up with dishes let alone getting my challenge card done. I have a ton left to do for the cruise-in and only today to finish! Not only did I have to get this done but one for my grandson's birthday party today! He turns one. This last year has just flown by. I'll post it later....maybe Monday!

Now.....here is my challenge card. It was really hard for me to get into the card this week. I ended up using RV11, R20, RV06 and R24. I had to stare at those colors a long time before I decided that a pig would be the right image. This is the first time this Hambo has seen ink! Isn't he darling! The spots on the paper were creatd by holding the copic marker on the paper and letting it bleed. As I look at the bottom background piece it reminds me of strawberry angel food cake with those confetti pieces in it. My grandma used to make that cake for my birthdays (not the strawberry part but the confetti angel food part).
Click on the link to the right to see the copic challenge colors for the week! Come on and play along!

Short post today.....too much to do!

Artful Sentiments Copic Challenge #15

Wow, this past week just flew by! Kimm will be posting the challenge to her blog late Friday night this week. Since it is a holiday tomorrow, I'm posting my card for the challenge tonight as well. The card was made using the Triple play technique from Technique Junkies. I threw in the only piece of red, white, and blue ribbon I have along with Bigz Star die from Sizzix, a computer generated sentiment and finally a $1 stamp from Michaels. The card will fit into a standard #10 envelope (business size). The colors this week are B26, R29, C0. I didn't have C0 so used C1 instead. You can barely see it as the shadow for the shoes. This card is rather funny to me as the one thing I really HATE to do is to go shoe shopping. I know.....so many of you LOVE it but I just don't! Don't like to shop for purses either! Now......paper......LOVE to shop for that! Hee hee! The first image is the card as it is shut. The second image below is the card in it's open position. OH! BTW........Happy 4th of July!!

Artful Sentiments Copic Challenge #14

Here is my card for Artful Sentiments Copic Challenge card this week. The copic colors this week are pictured to the side. I actually had all of them this week. We were allowed to use one extra green but with my image I decided that I didn't need to! In the copic class that I took, Marianne said that only clear embossing works with copic markers BUT this image really needed to be gold, so I was VERY careful coloring this avoiding the embossed lines as much as possible. I also cleaned the marker tip on scratch paper frequently. I DON'T recommend it! Maybe stamping with a gold ColorBox ink and embossing in clear would work? The flowers and leaves are cut out and mounted up with foam tape. Isn't the corner punch I used cool? You don't see all of it as there is more of the punched corner under my image. The image is from RubberStampede, a stamp I picked up at Joanns a few years ago.

Artful Sentiments Copic Challenge #13

Wow! It is hard to believe that this is Kimm's 13th challenge already! If you would like to see the other design team cards for this challenge, please click on the link to the right! My card uses a free digi from Dustin Pike's blog. I just love his dragons and there are a bunch of his other images that are way too cute! This week's colors are: B05, YG23,YR04 and any purple. I didn't have B05 so substituted B24 instead. I had the other markers and added V04. About the only place that I used the purple was to create the shadow on the dragon. To create the spots on the dragon I used the V04 again and held it in place to push the green out of the way. Hope you have enjoyed this little 'out of the box' dragon.

I have another dragon card that I did as well. The second dragon card was originally done as a blog hop for the Technique Junkie group. But the blog hop was postponed and I'll end up doing something different for the next time it is scheduled. So......As you can see it is another one of Dustin Pike's freebie dragons. The background behind the dragon is the Dragged Madras technique from the Technique Junkie newsletter. Instead of using a straight or torn edge for the technique I used a punched border instead. My friend, vicky Ward, came to my house for a technique play day. It was her idea to use the border punches instead and I think it really kicks the technique up a notch! The dragon on the second card was also colored with copics.
It was a busy day today. I had three of the four grandkids for most the day. Went to a cruise-in this evening. We didn't take the car but went to pass out flyers for our car club's cruise-in. It was really rainy today and I didn't feel like dragging out the car to wash it (since it was dirty). I also didn't want to put the car seats in the back seat of the Mustang. Helped my oldest granddaughter, Breauna, make a Father's day card for her daddy. She is starting to color to good now!

2 Days Left for Blog Candy and Artful Sentiments Copic Challenge

Don't forget to put in your comment on last Monday's post to be in the drawing for my blog candy!!

Now for the Artful Sentiments Copic Challenge card of the week. The Colors pictured here were kind of hard for me this week. My substitutes were okay but I just didn't feel too inspired!! The stamp I used is from Maryse Carrier. She used to be an artist for Magenta. I got a number of her designs when she was designing for herself. The background is a Technique called reinker splash. The colors were pretty soft but seemed to be just perfect for this week's challenge. I hop that you enjoy it! Join Kimm's challenge by clicking on the link to her blog to the right. I didn't have the exact colors but I came close. You can see my colors in the card pic.

We made a quick trip to Redmond on Thursday to spend a little time with my step-mom before she moves to Oklahoma on the 23rd. Don't know when we'll get to see her next.

Artful Sentiments Copic Challenge #11

Today the automated post feature of my blog is at work! As the computer posts the blog entry all on its own, I'll be in downtown Portland watching my husband ride by on the Portland General Electric Grand Floral Parade float. So, while I'm enjoying my view, you can enjoy viewing my design team card for Artful Sentiments Copic Challenge. AND if you happen to be watching the Grand Floral Prade on your TV, you can wave at my Hubby. See the picture of him in the Wednesday post.
This week the challenge was to use some dark colors........ B97, Y35, R89 and one other color of your choice. I didn't happen to have any of those colors so I went as close as I could with B37, R39, Y26, and my choice of YG97. When I stared at those colors I gathered a few stamps that spoke to me and started on the image you see. I used the blender pen to lighten the red and colored in the background. The pinkish background that resulted was really awful looking......I threw the whole thing in the trash. Then, when my granddaughter, Breauna, was helping me refile some paper scraps, I saw that image in the trash. Later that day I dug it back out and grabbed my red pen to color in the background with the full strength of the pen. Ahhhhh....... now I liked it. Sometimes you just have to put the image down, walk away, and let your brain work on a solution. It has worked for me more than once! The butterfly color was accomplished by touching the blender pen to the dark blue pen then coloring with the blender pen only. It is a sweet technique that I learned in my copic class. The words of the stamp were also highlighted with the blender pen. The butterfly was cut out and mounted separately to give a little bit of dimension. I see that I really could use some photographic lessons too! My lighting could really use some help to let 3-D portions show up!! Create your own card for this challenge and go to Kimm's blog to upload your creation for the challenge. You'll also want to bookmark Artful Sentiments by Kimm's blog as there will be some blog candy coming up in the near future! The link to her blog is on my side bar.

Artfull Sentiments Copic Challenge 10 & MMSC

This week for Artful Sentiments' Copic Challenge the colors were as shown. Well, E47 was one I didn't have BUT I did have E49. Then RV21 was another I didn't have so I substituted RV17. At least my substitutions were fairly close to each other on copic's color wheel. When I first looked at those colors, all I could think of was Neopolitan ice cream. Alas......no ice cream stamps to be had so I settled for the next best thing......cupcakes! In order for my brown to be light enough I didn't color directly on the paper with it. Instead I touched the tip of my E11 to the E49 and then colored. You have to touch the tip quite often or you run out of color. I used the same technique with the RV17 on the icing so I would get a lighter color. Then I did the same for the 'shadow' under the cupcake using E11. I added sparkle with my Quickie Pen and some ultra fine sparkle. Dang.....that stuff is EVERYWHERE now. It is soooo fine that you can hardly get it out of the tidy tray. AND now I have sparkle all over the carpet in the Stamp Hole too! See that little ribbon slide. You'd never guess that it had it's beginning on a piece of my lingerie! When the old bra gave up the ghost, I cut it apart and saved the plastic pieces from the strap. Shhhhh! Don't tell anyone!

This is also an entry into the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge (MMSC3). Priscilla made a comment on my dragon card on SCS and invited me to play along. Can't say that I will be able to play all that much but it happened that I could this week. I actually had this card done on Thursday but couldn't post it until Saturday when Kimm's challenge goes live. Since I'm on her Design Team.....no early posting for me!
